but with swine flu, learning about it won't make the US look bad for ignoring it kicking the shit out of other less-developed places.

the news hypes "safe stories", every time. they're too worried about their profit margins to do anything else.

My favorite point about all this was that a handful of people died from swine flu and everyone started wearing masks. But how many have died from AIDS and we still can't get people to wear condoms.

I keep seeing questions like "Are you afraid for your children?" pop on up places like anonymous moms and yahoo answers. I'm one of the very few who reply with a "Hellz to the no!" I guess I'm one of the few who knows about the last time swine flu hit and the damage the panic caused. The internets need a history lesson.
