Yep, that's love. FWIW, Mere at 9.5 is still falling asleep in Mom's arms most nights in the living room, plopped in her lap in TV position. We know she's ready when she takes off her glasses (she's gotten near-sighted), rolls over on her side in Mommy's lap and inserts thumb and zonks.

We also had a lot of good luck in getting her to relax (she'd pull every trick in the book, too) with the use of a small dose of melatonin; Mere's sister's mom (gads, it's all weird, I know) is a professional with a international adoption agency dealing with kids who have behaviour issues and so on, and (a) is seriously nice, and (b) has had a ton of experience with adopted kids with a huge range of problems.

Long story short, she started using it on Mere's sister Mer, and it worked like a champ, and it's worked well for Mere as well. FWIW, of course, and far from a noodge, OK?

Really, you sould like you've been doing a spectacular job with him, and that the baseline is that he's a really good kid. Any rough edges, those can wear off with time, including bang-bang-stick-em-up.
