For [livejournal.com profile] solidkz -

Who really sounds like he needs to be reminded that there are still community-minded Good Guys left in this country.

We got a flyer from the Japanese-American National Museum in Little Tokyo yesterday - (we're members) - the September 11th - Bearing Witness to History exhibit will be at the facility beginning July 1st through the 15th of August. It's going to be held in the Dr. & Mrs. Edison Miyawaki, Taul and Sachiko Watanabe and Weingart Foundation Galleries.

It's being sponsored by the National Center for the Preservation of Democracy, whose goal is to promote the principles of democracy, diversity and civic involvement.

The Museum itself is an incredible place. Check out the exhibits from their webpage.

You should come out for Nisei Week. It'll make you proud to be an American. These folks certainly are.

And while an army needs soldiers, I'm glad ours has artists.

The Navy sent theirs to our Armed Forces Day parade.

Wish you could have seen the folks who turned out for the B-17 when it came through.

The two guys in my department who became citizens this year still have the flags we gave them on their "citizenship day" in their offices.

And Jim just came in to tell me about another documentary on Discovery he saw on D-Day.

Idiots come and idiots go - but the good guys find a way to make the important stuff last forever.
