I'm at work. The room spins and I've learned to like melon-flavored Riccola, but I'm here. The apple isn't too bad, and the strawberry is just plain narsty.

I've also sent all my faxes from home, which means I got The Brick working again. Barely.

This is the laptop I bought when Cliff died - the one bona fide "OHMIGHAD I'm going to need this" purchase.

It's now six years old. I got a deal on a year-old machine from Insight, back in the day when I did all the purchasing for IT.

Looks pretty good. Runs well, too. I think it's a 133 or 166 MHz Pentium StinkPad. However, the CD Rom and floppy drives are kaput, so is the battery - just the mainboard, monitor and hardrive are in good shape. It is so time for retirement.

But it's another old friend. We commuted for four years together.

And I got it on the network last night in five minutes. That, has to count for something.
