Today?
Pretty damn productive, all told.
I think we've got all the items on the DCFS punchlist complete - need to take the tops off the picket fence in the backyard (but we knew that) - five minutes with a chainsaw, and it'll be all better.
I think we'll be able to schedule the final inspection in a couple of weeks.
Note to self: plan to get child care from non-relatives. Your in-laws are not going to be suitable.
No, no plans to buy chainsaw. See sentence above. Ditto any kind of firearm.
Got to see The Incredibles this evening - did anyone else catch the Dykstra kid in the credits or the Bakshi?
Also got a call from an old friend this evening - remember that high school chum who works for the CIA? I was named partly after his mother - who died in his late twenties from MS, and now his father has passed from CHF and COPD. I knew that good ol' boy well - and I'm sure he's fishing somewhere and catching up with my Dad. They used to be such good friends -
Just the corker of a long list of crap this week. I haven't been this angry and sitting on it this well in years. I've come to the conclusion that sending a letter out with Christmas cards might not be possible - the biggest news is going to be coming down as I'm getting them in the mail.
As Sis put it - "We'd like to see Mom have a heart attack and die in her sleep. We don't want her to be an end-stage cancer patient." Ain't that a pip?
Life goes on. If you aren't happy with the view, don't worry - it'll change. That's the nature of things.
