Blech. Remind me not to do this again.

I should know better. I should know better. Crap.

You don't play competitive games with Jim. Particularly when the game can be circumvented and won using knowledge of the way the program works (meta-gaming) and taking advantage of the weaknesses inherent in the system.

Like, oh, having a huge tank for a mech, blow the crap out of an opponent and then lose the big score to a little meta-gamer who knows you can scoot in there, deal the last blow and get all the credit.

But no, my honorable paladin wants everyone to play his way. And he actually thinks they will!

I hate Battletech. The first game was okay, but by the second, I was tired of it and wanted to go do something else. But since they had fucked up Jim's pod, they were comping us another game for both of us - and there were two other guys playing who weren't half bad -- but we watched them clean up, time and again even when we weren't playing. Dead giveaway.

I suck at games, always have. I accept it as my lot in life - and if I manage to do better, that's good enough for me. Someday, I will be good enough to win - and that will be gravy. Jim, on the other hand, hates to lose to cheaters.

Suffice it to say, it was a dismal end to a boring day. I've had a big glass of sake and gotten some laundry done. Hoorah for me.

Going to go to bed now. And no, no writing this weekend either.
