My vanity, let me show you it.
I told you I was the con chair for a wee, tiny convention in Claremont back in 1982, right?
I was just old enough to sign contracts, no kidding.
I also told you someone who had attended the convention found me through LinkedIn?
He sent me a couple of pictures from the awards banquet.
Over this past weekend? Went back to the Hermosa Fiesta, where Wii Sports Resort had a booth set up to demonstrate their new product (which we will SERIOUSLY be getting, holy cow it's GREAT) - and a photobooth where they caught kid and me.
Here. Let me show you them.

This me, *just* 22 years old (banquet was on my birthday) - getting ready to hand out the awards - con was cop/spy/good-guy themed and the replacement for Zebra-Con that year. We called the awards 'Huggys' - Eileen Roy handled it for me.
I'll say it now. This is 1982, beeyotches. I was steampunk AND pirate lass LONG before y'all had a clue. Those velveteen pants end at my knees with buttoned cuffs and I wore patterned tights under them. Wish I still had those clothes. Yes, I do.

Me and Eileen Roy - she's handing me the ballots to read and the 'awards' - which were huge cinnamon gummy bears (Huggy Bear - Huggys - okay, you got it).

This is me yesterday at the WiiSportsResort Booth, with kid (who was fading FAST approaching naptime). I'll be 49 in November - lessee, that's almost 27 years after the first set of pictures was taken.
And I didn't even have to bathe in the blood of virgins or something. *snickers*
EDIT: For reference, the icon photo is me at 16 years old.

That picture of you at 22? Looks like a Jessica McClintock blouse. I loved my Jessica McClintock blouse. I also loved the Jessica McClintock handsewn RenFaire dress I had once. She did good work before she started selling readywear and cologne.
