On that Roman thing.

No, I'm not going to spend time or pixels I don't have to on this. The guy doesn't deserve it.

Once again - opinions are like assholes; everyone has one, and sooner or later they all stink.

The only place that has any bearing on the matter is the court system (flawed it may be, I don't know for sure) handling the case.

And if everyone is in such an uproar over this - this whole matter is old enough to drink in some states. Definitely can drive and dance in the high school musical.

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN.

Right.

Moving on.

No statue of limitations on murder...or rape. Particularly of children. Got it?

Show's over. Go about your business. Move along.

I've pretty much avoided seeing Polanski's films in protest over his offenses over the years. I did see Rosemary's Baby when I was younger though, before I knew about what he did.

I don't think that the rage on the feminist side is anything new either. I can't say the same about wtf is going with his supporters.

ETA: You forgot to add that there's no statute of limitations on fleeing the country before your sentencing. He was already guilty, just inherently too lazy to do the time.

I just don't understand the interest. Never have, never will.

Interest in his films? Or this case?

Can't answer on the films, sorry.

As for the case, I think people are interested now, because of the politics behind everything. France suddenly backs down from their "America is scary" statement, means they could easily be realizing A) how stupid that sounded or B) there's something in this for them if they cooperate with the Americans.

I guarantee that if the apprehended was some random Joe schmoe, it wouldn't be receiving the press it's getting. But apparently, because of this guy's past, present status and artistic abilities, we're supposed to ignore all that now.

I honestly think that if they don't bring him back to face the music, it's going to set the whole feminist movement back several notches- which would definitely be bad. Rape is regarded as a joke in the is country as it is, so I want to see this guy get taken down a notch or two.

Don't watch his movies. Don't support him. The only way my thinking has changed is it went from "I hope we catch that fucker so we can throw his ass back in jail" to "I hope his ass gets thrown back in jail".
