The joy that is my Friends List -

Geocities is GONE - kicked the bucket, pining for the Fjords...you name it. AN EX-CONCEPT.

But in the delight that is my friends list, I have people both scrambling (and lamenting the passing) of it...and techs at Yahoo making it possible to salvage the wrong that was every wee twink with a few pages of html knowledge under their belt. *raises hand* Yup, me too.

(I think I might have found an email that is nearly non-spammable in the bargain. Only one attached to each domain and so far, nobody has found them.)

I think I've had my geocities homepage since basically the beginning of its existence - late 1994. I downloaded all my content about a month or two ago. I should probably set up a new homepage with a real live domain name.

You know, I didn't even think about checking which of my bookmarks and reference sites were housed on geocities. Crap. Surely they're still cached somewhere?

I left Geocities only to have the sight taken over by some other person who never put any content in the sight so search engines brought people to an empty page. Now it is gone, that problem is solved. I'm glad to see Geocities disappear.
