Screw this noise.

You guys want fan fic? Screw it, I want some.

Advent. Twenty-five days. Gimme some anime titles to work with - and get old school on me, the Death Notes just don't do it for me and never will.

Remember, my first fan fiction was Astro Boy.

Will do 100 words or less.

Gimme something to work with. One per day.

(And I'll get started with the ones I like.)

*grumble*

Oh Jim. I'm not sure I need the facepalm icon or the LOL one.

Um. That's how I met my fella. Yes, writing Ranma 1/2 fan fiction. The first time I 'met' him? He looked like this:

jtbell2@hotmail.com

I had no idea of age, gender or geographic location - I had found the personal Angelfire webpage surfing a fan fiction webring one evening in a fit of self-pity and angst. I was a widow at that point, had been for over a year and had an awful job that was sucking my soul dry.

The story idea was intriguing - even though it contained (and still does, I have to fix/remediate some of that) some horrible tropes - and I emailed him offering 'assistance.'

Okay, I starting out by rewriting portions.

He LOVED it.

Then I found out he was male, my age and in St. Louis. The plot thickened, you might say.

The first phone call was seven hours long. When I found out he was going to spend Christmas alone, I said 'oh not you're NOT' and sent for him to spend it with me and mine. I'm...impetuous when I have some extra cash, to be blunt and I had lost my husband of 15 years a year before that, and there was still some leftover from the wee life insurance policy payout (and it was WEE, lemme tellya). I set a budget, checked the web and found a ticket round-trip between St. Louis and Los Angeles that fit the budget. It'll be eleven years this Christmas - and I've never looked back. We were married two years later.

Just for you - I will post something out of the framework built for that story. We haven't been back to it in years - jobs, getting ready to adopt and then having a kid will do that - but we want to, we NEED to and everything that goes with that.

(I really need to get that stuff cleaned up - it's behind the curtains right now because it was - get this - on an old Geocities site I migrated over to Yahoo, and surprise, surprise - haven't cleaned up since to make the links work.

I have enjoyed sleeping too much, I guess.)

In the meantime, enjoy some of these:

Jim's favorite: http://ymerej.tripod.com/ranma/nnh/index.html

All ugly as sin (except for Joe's stuff, his stuff has the most honest, credible feel of them all), guilty pleasures galore and if you can keep your head up admitting you like this stuff, you can do anything. Ranma 1/2 is really played for yuks - finding that romantic, mythic quality hiding between the laughs is an art and a pleasure.

And I officially adore you. Just saying.

Fruits Basket? I don't know what all you've seen so this makes it difficult lol. Have you ever seen Hajime no Ippo? If not you should, it's marvelous. I second Ranma 1/2 fanfic... lol *cheeky bastard*
