Fearless....fearless

Too tired to do a Curry House run. That's how tired we were last night. That's TIRED.

That also said, we put Xander down, kissed him good night, told him we were going to bed too and DID.

We all overslept the alarms this morning, kid included and I woke him up at 6:00 (we're out the door at 6:30, mind) to get him dressed and fed and got a warm, snuggly kid as my reward.

That actually worked. I am pleasantly surprised and bemused at the same time.

That lasted until lunch, when I got a call from daycare - he'd taken a spill, bumped his head and should I come get him to have him seen or - ?

I went over - and found that yes, he'd put another knot on his head, but it was a small spot and didn't have any other involvement. No changes in cognition, gait, consciousness - had not lost consciousness...and my kid has a posse. According to the teachers, he had three little girls waiting attention on him, singing to him to comfort him...*eyeroll*...I only wish I could have seen it. (I know all the girls in his class. I heartily approve of all of them.) I was also at daycare at naptime, and there's nothing cuter than a center full of sleeping kids, or half-sleeping kids with wiggly butts in the air, etc.

Daycare does not stock medication, so I went across the street to the Rite-Aid to pick up some children's Advil (and some Halloween candy for the office), came back, dosed the kid and fed him a bit more lunch, then put him down for his nap and handed him back to his teachers.

One of the things I did do for his teacher was show her the video clip I have on my phone still from the first week he was here, and bonked his head on the bed frame (as a comparison) that I had forwarded to Hank for a language check (is he saying anything but OW here?).

Oh dear God, he was tiny then. It hasn't been more than a few days over six months, guys. I know kids can grow, but this is NOT the same kid at all. I hadn't noticed, and it gives me pause. I need to go back to the reports at referral, but my memory normally doesn't play me very false. This kid did not grow an inch in the time between referral and our picking him up in Taiwan - almost a year. And now he's almost three inches taller in six months? (And huskier, too. Holy chrome.)

So, yeah. I'm calling the endo for a second opinion and left a message with the agency. Methinks something - may not be stinking, exactly - but certainly smells off about this.

That was my morning. You?
