And so, the weekend comes to a close

Turkey dinner was delicious, thanks. I got to take the other pumpkin pie over to Sis' house and had a bit of a chat. Came off whiny and maudlin. Go me. Crap.

Sat and watched the Jerry Lewis Telethon. Weeped.

Sat and watched some more Beatles anthology. Ditto.

Sat and watched some more color WWII footage...okay, you got the drift.

Y'know, I ought to call Sis and tell her about Jerry Lewis. Poor guy is hooge. HOOGE. From what I can gather, he's been on steroids too for a COPD issue. He's off oxygen now, from all reports and improving.

But hell, he looked sick. Poor guy. And it does take me back, seeing the long-term care issues you deal with in neuromuscular stuff. It's not fair, and it's not easy and it's not anyone's fault. And in my case, the person who was in my care did not have the disease of the week. So there was no telethon for my "kid."

But I can shed tears, nonetheless. It only took almost four years to remember how.

And a couple of characters are calling for me to come back and put their conversations on paper. Problem is, I'm trying to convince one that giving the other the third degree right then isn't a good idea, and he's not listening to me.

Well, back to the salt mines. I'll give myself some chocolate and sake and maybe set up the upstairs computer first.

I'm actually ready to go to work tomorrow.

i was not aware you were a Beatles fan

Very cool, been a Beatles fan since I was (appropriately enough) 9. John Lennon is a huge influence on me, my music, and my life in general.

I read Jerry Lewis had viral meningitis. It was sad, because he was one who never shied away from moving, and he sat during the entire telethon. Despite the things people are saying from him, and rumors that the MDA would like to get rid of him, I think he has done a hell of a lot at a time when most people are attempting to do a tenth of what he has done for MD.

One day we'll have to "talk story" about writing stories, and maybe I can share with you one of the stories I wrote last year. Any suggestions and tips would be appreciated. I had sent it to a publisher in Hawai'i, and the guy said that my story was great, but he wants the characters to be believable, and he wants to believe in the story. It was encouraging, but because of it I haven't written anything in over a year.
