I've always been irratated by some people on the left who seem to call every Republican a nazi (who also seem to forget they were the National Socialist Party). I mean, say former CA govenor (arg, the Armenian, before Willson), a moderate Republican, come on.
Mostly though, because it waters it down. So now we get someone like Bush2, who is very intolerant of dissent (that was the first thing about him that made me think the nazi lable was correct), and who thinks he should be able to imprision citizens without charge for as long as he wants.
Deukmejian? (No, I can't spell his last name either...)
Decent enough guy, IMO. It was Wilson I couldn't stand.
As for GWB? ALL of his audiences are "hand picked"... meaning he is not hearing anyone who disagrees with him. Not only that, anyone who does disagree with him is likely arrested or persecuted.
Just a slight note here.. the Nazis were "socialist" in name only. They conflicted (in some cases violently) with pretty much all the genuine socialist and communist groups around at the time, denouncing them as a threat to Germany and the German way of life. The "National Socialist Party" name did not mean what most people nowadays assume it to mean.
