In other news -

One of the good things.

Got home yesterday, and found a message on the voicemail from the PT provider Jim is going to see twice a week for the four weeks the doctor wants. The billing office, matter of fact.

Uh oh.

They'd verfied his insurance coverage and wanted to tell us what our responsiblities were going to be.

Uh oh.

We were covered; but out of network.

Uh oh.

But the doctor had noted Jim worked as a rad tech, and they were going to extend the professional "courtesy discount" to us. Our co-pay for each visit was going to be...

Wait for it.

$10.

Have a nice day. (I dropped a note to the HR department here, thanking them for getting such a good contract with the insurance company. Ya think?)

Yay for professional courtesy, especially when it gets a discount. Hope Jim gets all better soon.

To swipe a phrase,

w00t w00t BOOYAH!

Now, if I could just get that kind of discount on computer repair... :)

Donna, I've just started my new job, and I'm wondering how the hell you manage to get so much stuff done, AND read all your Friends pages. You've got a time-warp machine there, haven't you?

I read VERY fast. VERY fast. I'm thinking I'll have to take a timed test with [livejournal.com profile] theferret one of these days - Jim calls me "Data."

Combine that with types very fast (upwards of 90 wpm, I've been clocked that high), and the fact I haven't gotten much more than four hours of good sleep a night this week and you have the basics.

I think Mom got most of our medical care on professional courtesy discounts. It was the only way.
