Schaudenfreude - and send it to Snopes

Entire flocks of lambs were shipped over from the UK and Australia to Japan by an internet company and marketed as the latest 'must have' accessory.

But the scam was only spotted after a leading Japanese actress said her 'poodle' didn't bark and refused to eat dog food.

I'd really be suspicious, except for this story.

I've had both. Bottle fed, both even.

I mean, I'm holding the snark back by sheer brute force here. Sheep are STUPID. I mean, totally clueless stupid. Goats have more brains - you can at least hold a conversation with one...and pitted against a dog?

I call bullshit - and I'm sending it to Snopes.

Desperate, yes. But this is a bit extreme...or is it?

Lambs are cute in the fields with their mothers. You are right, they are still waiting for what little brain they will someday have to be delivered.
Yes, baby goats make much better pet/companions. Baby goats are much cleaner too.

*reads article* I could maybe believe poodles are rare enough that people might not recognise one but a sheep is a sheep, and sheep have hooves and go baa and produce little sheep size droppings. Surely a dead giveaway.. I'm highly suspicious.

But you have actually interacted with your dog and made a friend out of him and know he has intellegence, unlike idiots who just have them to be a fashion item.

I've also heard pets are very rare in Japan because the apartments usually don't allow them. Still, I have had way too much exposure to farm animals to be objective. Covered in snark myself.

They emailed me when they did - a first for me and Snopes!
