It's probably worth mentioning -

I'm not here for the pr0n or the fandumb.

There. I've said it.

I'm not surprised in the least at the steps that have been taken - and taken badly, by any reasonable standard - by Six Apart this year.

This is a service that has grown out of "throw me some cash for a server" to "we need advertising $$$ to support the infrastructure - holy crap!"

These things do impact your experience. In mine, shut-downs like this happened early, often and continuously - and unevenly. Early. Often. Always.

Not saying it's fair. It simply is.

And it very closely mirrors what's happening to us as a culture just about everywhere you turn.

Anything I would say? Well, last time I tried, I couldn't get the page to load for the sound and fury already in progress. I'd have to say there's plenty to go around as it stands.

I'm still trying to decide if I want to renew my subscription and stick around. I'm not into 'fandumb' or pr0n either- but there are folks here who I enjoy visiting with and reading. I really don't want to give that up.

But I already have, in a way. I've acquired a stalker- a former colleague who is intent on making my life a misery, and his actions have caused me to no longer be able to post anything from work. Not that I did, but it was nice to be able to post when the idea was hot.

It's sad to see our culture deteriorating around us.
