Pretty bitchy, if you ask me -

“I think they were just discriminating against because we were young decent-looking girls. I mean, nobody else on the plane looked like us except us,” she said. “[The flight attendants] were like older ladies. We were younger. Who knows, they could have been just jealous of us because we were younger.”

You don't get interrogated by the FBI for two hours for being pretty.

You don't get banned from EVER flying Southwest Airlines again and left stranded in Los Angeles because you're pretty.

I think there's something more to "created a disturbance" here - whaddya think?

I've seen prettier girls than them on planes when I've flown Southwest.

And honest, to claim you are too 'pretty' in the first place? Ego much?

You used the perfect icon to reply to this post.

I love it!

Well, if that isn't a case of "the stupid, it burns" I don't know what is.

I found this story on Feministing (http://feministing.com/archives/008675.html) a couple days ago. They've got a link to the CNN Video of the story. (http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/us/2008/02/25/porter.too.pretty.to.fly.wtsp)

EDIT: looks like that video is the same as that on the Channel 10 article.

I fly Southwest all the time. No, seriously. ALL the time.

The stuff I see them put up with? I have a hard time believing they're as nasty as claimed.

And to be banned from flying an airline at the age of 18? What the heck did they actually DO? Something tells me the airline is actually being pretty kind not saying anything publicly - something truly stinks here, and I don't think it's the airline.

I share your skepticism.

[identity profile] nagasvoice.livejournal.com 2008-02-28 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
One suspects they swallowed the evidence of whatever they were doing.
It takes a *lot* to tick off a flight crew.
Also, there's probably surveillance footage of it, whatever they were doing.
Somebody's Daddy is going to be pretty mad, no?

A Southwest Airlines crew? Good grief. That's nearly impossible.

I spent two years at the hotel watching the Southwest folks come and go every night and morning. They were almost all of them pleasant, good-humoured, and patient with things that weren't convenient for them, like us closing the kitchen just before they got there each night. Even the ones who drank too much when they were off-duty weren't obnoxious. Unlike Continental crews... and Northwest crews too, for that matter... Southwest was a joy.

[identity profile] tomlemos.livejournal.com 2008-02-29 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly. There's a good reason for their ban and I'm sure Southwest is being polite by not giving more of the reason. But I agree, there's definitely a good reason they were asked never to fly their airline.

I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop too...

[identity profile] violet-tigress1.livejournal.com 2008-02-29 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
Extremely kind, I'm sure.

I agree. Someone is withholding the dirt, and it's not the girls. I love SouthWest!

Probably taking nudie pics with their cell phones so they can send them to their other attention whoring friends and their myspace page.

Let's all thank Paris Hilton for setting the bar. *eyeroll*

[identity profile] pagawne.livejournal.com 2008-02-29 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
Perhaps they protest their innocence too much, and too loudly?

[identity profile] unclejimbo.livejournal.com 2008-02-29 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
Ummmm, let's see... Brainless twits who think Paris Hilton is HOT...?

Sorry dears, you may look nice, but real beauty is more than appearance.

[identity profile] violet-tigress1.livejournal.com 2008-02-29 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
I'd say a little more than "created a disturbance."

[identity profile] snobahr.livejournal.com 2008-02-29 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
I'm guessing the Dumbatic Duo were bitchy from the get-go.

[identity profile] moropus.livejournal.com 2008-02-29 03:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I bet they were stoned, obnoxious, freaking out the other customers, etc. I don't believe this for one minute.

Last year's sweet little thing was wearing a miniskirt and not underpants and flashing her genitals to the passengers repeatedly, causing them to complain and rightly so. Southwest put out a pretty restrained comment on her. These airheads are trying to say Southwest hates us because we're speshul and that jusst doesn't fly.

It has got to be hard to make a living flying these days. It would take an emergency of epic proportions to get me to deal with the crap that is TSA with all my medical junk. I can't be the only one that hates them. Add on the high price of fuel and any think else you can think of and I can't see how airlines survive. Kicking people off just for fun is not a good way to make a profit.

I think I waited on those girls last night. Ugh.
