Coolies!

One of my cheap frugal tips for arranging travel is to use Best Westerns (with a AAA Tour Guide for assistance) when you can't Priceline a hotel room.

Well, what do you know. Best Western, as a hotel company, is eBaying accomodations for hurricane relief. And some other things, which look like they were donated by license owner/operators. It's very cool.

Best Western has its own philanthropic organization - Best Western for A Better World (it's listed on the auction descriptions) and they are donating 85% of the proceeds to the Red Cross.

I see some locations on places I have to go in the next six months. I might be able to hit two targets this way - but go take a look. Best Western is international, after all.

November 12th is when we arrive - after leaving here the 10th, but you'd know that song, neh? We'll be there until th 19th - up in Surfer's Paradise (will have to get the itinerary back from Jim to get the nitty gritty for you) -

There are a few Beast Westerns in this town I wouldn't send a junkie to. Well, maybe a junkie. But not anybody I liked. Mold, noise, unsafe neighbors, you name it. Always worth checking the reviews.

But there's a Western in our Japantown that looks pretty tolerable, if you're looking at a local visit. ANy of the SOuth of Market-Civic Center ones, check with me or reviews; one of them's a hellhole, others are okay.

Hence, the AAA Tour Book. Never stay in a Best Western not rated by them. Did it once - actually, by accident in Las Vegas. They'd just changed hands, had LOST their rating, but we got stuck with them, and stuck is just what I'd call it. AUGH.
