And so was the last day. That would mean this is the first day then, right?

And kid wants NOTHING to do with any of it.

Me? I'm down to trite gambatte ne's and the like.

Be strong, little guy. I know you can do it.

(Really wish I could make it clear why telling him 'this is going to be so much fun' doesn't help when he's lost everyone he knew...all he wants to do is go home with Mommy and Dada and STAY THERE.)

Sitting on my hands. Worried like whoa.

I hope things work out. I haven't been in your spot as a parent, obviously, but as a teacher, I can sympathize. I realize this is a stretch, but is it at all possible to take a half day to hang out at the classroom in the background? I know some schools allow it, but not all. He might just need that little guardian angel hovering in the background.

Something that Alex's new school did was to have him slip in to school starting with half days, staying longer each day. I don't know if this is even possible for y'all, but it helped us when the educational philosophies were totally different.

Once he makes some new friends it won't be so tough. Poor little guy. Do you have any little toys that he would think was an awesome treat? You could totally go the association route for a bit and give him a little something that's rewarding until he gets comfortable with his new school.

My cousins were cheap, we bribed them with one piece of candy each a day lol

He's a smart cookie. This is different and hard, and people in the last place loved him. Any chance of doing something fun when you get home, just until he adjusts?
