No, kid - you can NOT ride your tricycle in your pajamas. Even if you have your shoes on. Not even asking if it's fair or not. Sorry.

No, Jim - he's not going to stop, come off the bike and go inside if you ask him. You asked him once and he blew you off. Go and get him off the bike, in the house and so on. No, really. YOU have to do this.

No, cat. You may NOT go outside. Even if Jim left the door WIDE OPEN. Bummer to you, but thanks for not making me jump a fence in my nighgown, going commando. I literally may not care (no, really) about my state of undress in circumstances like this - but you won't dig the bump the payback has when you make me do things like this. No, really.

Kid, there are times when you have to do what you're directed to do. Sorry. It may be the time-honored tradition of defying your parents, but I fully intend to do my share.

Will find a better choice of time out soon, promise. I can see the one employed is making some things worse instead of better.

Thank you all for making me late to work this morning. You fed my control freak so well she'll be simmering all day. Thanks a bunch.

Momma said there'd be days like this. Kudos for not killing any of them.

This is just parental curiosity, and of course feel free not to answer, but why can't he ride his trike in his pajamas?

Not warm enough, and no parental supervision to boot. You have to at least put a jacket on over - and going out into the outside world in anything but street clothes? Special occasion and there a Reasons for it.

Not just because you're ready to go play. You have to have your clothes on to go outside. Mommy rules.

We have locks and chains for both doors - Jim had left the back door unlocked...just once.

BUSTED.

*grabs a guitar and strums* "Your mother warned you'd there be days like theeeese!"...*Puts away guitar*

You have good rules. They will go a long way. :) Develop character and structure early, it will stick better.
