Well, I'll have PPO coverage until May 2010. That's the good news.

Open Enrollment here at work isn't until then, and I have to keep paying out $1,200 a month until then. That's the bad news.

Oh, well. Guess it's time to get those new glasses, etc. Maybe. (Still think Kaiser will be cheaper. Maybe.)

Ow! I assume that's for all 3 of you. Can you get it cheaper through Jim?

Somedays, I swear I am just working for the insurance, I couldn't imagine affording it without my employer paying for it.

Doesn't kaiser offer insurance for employees that include dependents? Through my group Kaiser would cost almost $1200 for me and two dependents. As a single I pay a bit over $425 a month.

Through Jim, all three of us get Kaiser for nothing. I enlisted kid and I, thinking we would have need for specialist care...ha ha. Not so much, and Kaiser has been better at need for me this summer. (I couldn't even get in to see my long-standing physician...Kaiser saw me in two hours.)

So - I'm literally paying for coverage I'm not using. Have to wait until May to end the bleeding.

They do, and we have it. That's the policy we are using and not paying anything extra (unless you include the $5 co-pays) for.

My group policy? Not so much. And that's only for kid and me. If I added Jim, and turned it into a family policy?

More than twice as much. Ugh.
