"Somebody I don't know, is someone else's SO, is coming! Present much? YES/NO?"

One of the best things I love, now that I've reached my majority - is that I can give anything I want anyway, whenever I can/want. It's a privilege to be able to gift. (Not that you have to go broke doing it, mind.)

And when I'm in doubt about what, I default back to creature comforts. Bath fizzies! Or something good smelling and nice on the skin - winter is brutal, I don't care where you live.

So. This entry crossed my desk this AM. I really like the Fair Trade idea - and the stuff looks pretty nifty, too.

Anyone got holiday-goodies-as-a-fund-raiser links today? I'm all over that!

See you tomorrow!

You should read some of the coffee sites' takes on Fair Trade. Doesn't seem as if it really does much for the actual farmers, but more for the brokers who cut deals with the certifying folks. Don't know if that crosses the line for other fair trade organiations, though.

I'm a big fan of the MicroPlace microfinance site, and they're doing gift certificates. So you can give a $20 investment (or more) that helps somebody in a less-advantaged situation get or keep their business going and they pay it back with interest. The giftee gets to choose which investment opportunity to take and then gets the money back with interest. Increase the value of your gift and you get to do some good at the same time.
