Thank you--that made me feel better, just having come off a rather cautious and prickly doctor appointment just this morning. Linking to it myself, thanks.

Oh man. I AM that woman. And I can tell you - he does not overstate the problem. Now if we could just get doctors to listen.

Nice. It's good to see acknowledgment of something that is so screwed up. I have been lucky in that for every bad doctor who only sees fat in front of them instead of a person, I've been able to find a doctor who sees me as a person. However, because the bad ones have been so influential in my thinking (i.e., they were such bad experiences), going to a new doctor is terrifying because I'm on edge waiting to be dismissed or ignored or condescended to or treated with disdain. I'm always so relieved when I run into a doctor who actually treats me respectfully.

Thank you. I've never seen anything like that. Our modern life is largely responsible for us being fat. Most work is sedentary and most pre-packaged food is high in calories.

Most people don't know how or don't have time to cook past opening a few boxes. They work too long and they don't have time and they are too tired.

It doesn't matter why I am fat. Doctors should not have the right to attack me for it.
