Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!
Jan. 26th, 2003 08:53 amMcAfee can go kiss my lil' short hairs.
It's so gone, as well. And voila, everything works again. Amazing.
*sarcastic snarlies*
It takes a village to deliver firewood...I have proof of it. When the 100 mph winds blew, taking out our power for three nights...it also fell half a dozen trees in my complex. Being the quick little daughter-of-a-mother-who-lived-through-the-Great-Depression, I went outside and told one of the guys if he could save some of it for firewood, I would be most appreciative.
I think they saved me one eucalyptus tree, but cut it down into nice logs. Now, I don't have the fireplace. My friends
azuli and
scratch3000 do. I adore their whole house, for future reference. If my next house has half its charm, I'll be blessed.
However, there are logs to be moved. When
firez was here, I had him and Jim (
unclejimbo) help me move the logs into the back of the truck, where they sat for weeks.
Last night, I drove it over to Pasadena. Lo and behold, I had forgotten it was D & D night. There were - wow - people to help unload the beast. Theo and John and Char and I (Char, with the mighty handcart!) stacked those bad boys up against the fence and there they should stay and grow happy spiders until winter. The wood is as green as grass and would likely generate toxic smoke burned now - but eucalyptus burns HOT when it's well seasoned - it'll make good fireplace wood come fall.
I get to turn two stalks of celery into snacks today. I also get to see how well my tongue likes to be bit when I get to spend the afternoon in the midst of the nouveau riche of Diamond Bar. Blech. SUVs because you can. And other stupidities.
ALL pirates, ALL the time! *tsch* I'm just going for the commercials.
