Welcome back to the Nixon Years.

Check This Out. A peaceful protest of Bush speaking at a high school commencement in Ohio sparks a repressive response from everybody from the school police to the Secret Service. Shoot. All these folks are doing is "turning their backs" when asked to stand up for the President.

Gee weeds, it's just like Governor Reagan again. Not President. Oh, no. We had the jerk right where Gray Davis is now when the Vietnam protests heated up in the late 60's. Can't have that - he then closed the college campuses. Period. Protest that!

Not a thing was thrown, not a gun or weapon was found...and not a word was spoken. Give me a break.

Looking for more of a middle ground report...but this is just scary enough to begin with. Sheesh.

This morning's commute:

50 miles.
2.5 hours.

What needs to be done:

All personal effects boxed and put into storage from the dining room and the living room. Kitchen needs to be unearthed and rendered useful again. Refrigerator needs all science experiments booted and what's left needs a good dose of Lysol. Laundry. Oy, laundry.

Go look at 10 pages of houses in the area we want to move to.

What got done?

Moved the carpet company's equipment to one corner of the dining room. Swept the floor I could reach. Sneezed a lot. Took what Jim had boxed up on his day off and what ever else would fit in the car over to storage. Eat very cheap Chinese food looking like homeless people. See one house (from the outside in the dark no less).

Slept the rest of the time. No A/C in either the house or the car.

Yes, I have enough facilities to get properly groomed for work. But no cooking facilities and nothing in the refrigerator is trustworthy. Yea, verily, it will slay me. No kidding.

What got taken off the list:

Mom won't be having surgery and with a firm diagnosis, good care and treatment with proper pain medication is HAPPENING.
Lil' bro is doing well after his surgery and it's no longer a going concern. Next six weeks will suck, but nothing worse.
Kaiser loves Jim to pieces. His former boss is going to pieces.
Big bro is still standing. Went out to Mom's house Saturday (after doing the company picnic, which deserves a rant all its own) and actually had a nice time - Lauren cooked dinner (mmMMMmmm Lauren's cooking....) and all went well.

I'm a grump. I admit it. Somehow, I'm stressing over how much needs to get done and isn't getting done. I don't think it will help much if things are done by brownies overnight - there's going to be something after all that...I'll find something.

*breathe*

Somehow, things keep getting sidetracked. That's going to have to stop soon or I'll go buggy.
