Friday Night - WHEE, get all the laundry washed, dried and folded.

Sunday Night (after putting my foot down to get it all put away) - a cat or cats plural, has peed in it all.

Monday Morning - start over.

Special.

You don't need an exhibition, or a date, if you're in Japan.

When we visited in 2005, information like this was posted at every shrine we visited. Age-worn, faded by the sun - but not ancient. It's very present, every where you go.

Here, they send permission slips home with high school kids for parent to opt-out letting their kids see things like this. They did, at least, when I was in high school.

Don't think the current mindset is a new one. It's not. We didn't win the Cold War, we simply lasted longer than the Other Guy - and if we don't get smart very soon, we'll go the same way they did.

Bankrupt.

If you find that your life is nothing but sorrow, misery, anger, angst and joylessness; if you feel that other human beings are fundamentally bad and cannot be trusted and that life is a cruelty to be endured, this is a sign that what you're giving the world nothing but sorrow, anger, misery and angst. You are reaping your own harvest.

She's delightful, and worth reading often.

Also - if you're inclined to notice, any belief system that works ambitiously to convert people to its mode of thinking - has this at its core. (They also often shroud themselves in protections, threats and 'shun the unbeliever' in attempts to define themselves as separate from others. The last laugh is that just about all of them are more alike than not, even down to the denials to the contrary.)

So - instead of being threatened with retribution in the afterlife, you might just try this out because it makes sense. ^_^

And no...it's not easy, fun or provides immediate relief.
