What is it with me and victims of elevator doors? Co-worker got two fingers munched yesterday in the elevators doors...and guess who found the ice packs and ibuprofen? And made sure the injury was reported, et al? But the elevator doors being involved...I'm telling you. I don't enjoy seeing this pattern develop.

*sighs* I really do want that first responder kit at my desk. Really really.

Co-worker was also CERT trained, so I had plenty of cooperation - but dayim, that looked like it HURT. Poor guy.

I need to do some work for [livejournal.com profile] biglosers - mostly on cooking some of my favorite stuff, and taking pictures along the way. I can give recipes, no problem - the kick of the whole thing is making it look good. Now, if the pictures only look as good as the stuff tastes...I worked in commercials, and I'm not kidding myself. That takes some skill.

It is gorgeous out - clear, sunny and windy. Also - COLD. For us. Keep in mind, if it's Los Angeles and the sun is shining, it's SUPPOSED to be 80 degrees, dammit. This 50 degrees and below just throws everyone a curve. Wool? That itches. WHAT.

Oh, and you'll hear about Wanker and Arnie having some kind of thing in Los Angeles today on the news tonight - they flew over work in helicopters today. I flipped them both off for y'all - no charge. (100 mile no-fly, no NOTHING zone around Torrance today. Boy, that probably didn't make too many people flying today happy.)

So it'll be Obama/Edwards. One can only hope. Hey, Edwards always had class - bye bye Rudy. *whew* He was the only one I was worried about. Huckabee or Paul? I'm leaving, and those who want them get what they asked for (and deserve).

Everyone else - is scary enough.

I keep wanting King Cake.

Is anyone else's work doing Biggest Loser contests? Wish they'd done one here last year. Now, it's moot. (Yep. Still at goal almost a year later.)

Tell me something - is the routine of sending birthday cards, thank you cards and such THAT important? I'm also guilty of not thanking people enough - I get busy and also plow through groups without pardoning at times, too. Tell me true. Because I suck at it, and if it matters, I'd better work on it. My last birthday, the best greetings I got were from automated bots. Something very wrong with that, all by itself.

Who wants a trip to the Zoo? Wild Animal Park? I'm putting plans together - sing out and name a preferred date. Also, if we want to do a Joshua Tree trip, it had better be before Memorial Day weekend, it gets too hot otherwise. Want? Anyone?

2. Dictionary of the Tarot - Bill Butler

This is one of Cliff's old books - he used to keep it on the shelf next to his Bible.

Taking it down and actually trying to read it - wow, this is spare, confusing and not at all helpful.

I guess, next to the Cosmopolitan book on the Tarot that my sister used to cart around, anything would seem a little dry.

I'm going to go play with my cards a bit more - I think [livejournal.com profile] haikujaguar is dead in black just about always, and she uses a deck she created herself.

*yawns* Waiting to make a phone call to Germany...yeesh.
