I brought home leftovers from the AX dinner last weekend - since Jim couldn't go, the least I could do is bring home something he could benefit from, right?

None of it would be edible reheated as it was - but it would work rather nicely remastered into something else. Lobster and abalone into a seafood and corn chowder, for example. Toss the lobster shells into the stockpot. Win, right?

I actually managed this last night - and it was a pretty tasty dinner. Made a BUNCH, too.

I took the bath duties - Jim took the dishes afterward. Now, this gets tricky because after the bath, it's books - and only The Dad gets the book deal. (I can read books just fine - as long as Dad's not available. Then, it's okay. I try to do it while Jim is sitting next to us, the kid thinks something's wrong with Dad...soooo...Jim reads all the books.)

Jim said he was done with the dishes as kid appears, freshly washed and in his jammies. That would include the stockpot and the leftover chowder pot, neh?

What do my wandering eyes perceive this AM getting breakfast on?

You got it.

Both of them, still on the stove, left out overnight. And the temps inside our air-cooled house were above 80 all night last night.

Now. Checking icon, I would wonder. I was expecting to make lunch out of that chowder next week. Did I miss the boat THAT much?

I'm a little peeved. That took more than a few moments of planning and execution thar. And now it's garbage. Which I've told Jim he's responsible for today, and if it's still there tonight, it won't be pretty.

I'd think I was a lousy cook and kick myself in the head - except I don't think so.

You wonder why I don't read or write. Here's your answer. My head is too full of dumbass trivia like this instead.

You want to see the building our apartment was in, when Cliff and I lived in Zurich?

Quick, take a look at the street view. (Graffitti was not present when I was there. You might also see the lack of it on surrounding buildings. It was an understood thing that this was a building full of foreigners...and I don't think anything has changed in that regard.)

You'd better look quick because the Swiss ain't happy about the way Google built their street views.

Amazing. I can see the park we walked the dog at is still there. So are some of the businesses. Some. Buildings are there - but I don't see the phoneboxes I used anymore. Thai restaurants. *shakes head* Wow.
