Java Web Developer and BI Publisher Reports Developer

Under the general supervision of the Manager of ITG, this position performs support for the reporting and application development for the VPUE organization. Major functional areas of responsibility include development and support of new and existing applications, development and conversion of new and existing reports for the VPUE organization, and support of the data warehouse.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Develops, maintains and supports Java/Oracle based web applications to address needs of the organization
• Develops and maintains JAVA/XML and SQL reports
• Administers, manages and supports the reporting system and related data warehouse.
• Provides mentoring and training to help clients in developing their self-service reports.
• Provides 24-hour on-call production support as required,

Education, Experience & Skills
• Four-year college degree or equivalent. Field of Study: Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years experience in developing Java web based applications against relational databases. Oracle experience preferred
• Minimum 5 years experience in developing reports. Experience using BI (XML) Publisher and Oracle Reports a plus. (experience in XSL-FO, and OBIEE)
• Working knowledge in web application technologies (servlet, JSP/JSTL, X/HTML, XML, CSS, Javascript, Ajax and web application framework -- Struts framework a plus).
• 5 years experience with SQL, PL/SQL and SQL*Plus
• Knowledge in any scripting language (PHP, Perl) is a plus.
• Ability to work both independently and with other developers as a team.
• Excellent communication, analytical and analysis skills with the ability to interact with business users and other technical staff to understand and define requirements.
• Experience writing and reviewing technical materials.
