Itty bitty kitty boy is still in possession of his powderpuffs. He is also in possession of a nasty case of ringworm. Both of the other pets had to be brought into the vet for pilling and samples - and he got dipped. My nearly white kitty is now yellow and smells so funky he scares the other cat into corners. She is totally freaked out.

He's stretched out at my feet, sound asleep. It was a rough day.

[livejournal.com profile] ceolyn, we've located another kitten for you - big, fluffy, orange, likes dogs and nearly wheedled a ride home with Jim. Will deliver. You want?

All the contents of the linen closet are being washed. I can't get too riled about it; the last person in the house to have ringworm was me. Bah.

Sleep dep setting in - going to go fall down and go boom. Anyone got a 20 on [livejournal.com profile] solidkz yet?

Kitten?

Funny you should ask...A friend of Rey's is giving away a litter of kittens...she's bringing me my very own 8 week old kitty boy on Wednesday. He's black and white (as opposed to white and black like Veruca) and has been all but hand raised. He likes people so should be much less likely to go feral and run away.

I'm still feeding Sasha a scoop of cat food every evening before I go to bed. But I haven't seen her in weeks so I don't know if I'm feeding her or the neighborhood strays.

My husband has been making mumbles about orange kittens. All he can do is mumble, though - I doubt our current 6 tabbies and tuxes would appreciate Yet Another Feline Invader... plus the whole baby thing.

UGH that is the worst thing since Herpes, be careful that you don't also catch it again. In 1990 a cat show judge sell me a cat with it, she KNEW it was full of the fungus and wasn't honest. (Gee big surprise for Pollyanna there) I went around in the middle of the night for WEEKS with a black light and a squirt bottle of bleach water hitting EVERY surface. At the time I had 6 cats and was giving 6 cat baths using sulphur shampoo a day for 30 days. Perhaps this is why I fear very little left in life and feel capable of taking on so much LOL...

The vet is actually trying something systemic on top of the topicals - Program, believe it or not. I'll let you know if it does the trick.

Black light, huh? They didn't mention that.

Yes the fungus will glow under black light, its one of the diagnostic tools. There was even a vaccine that they put out that hasn't been a success for ring worm.
