Sort of sad -
Dec. 25th, 2003 08:58 pmWell, Christmas is done.
It involved driving to Sis' house in big RAIN, and driving home again in big RAIN and wind - I think they were saying it had been twenty years since we'd had a Christmas with bad weather, and I believe it. Inside we were festive - outside, ugh. Just plain gray and wet. The dogs stayed outside and looked in on us with big, sad eyes.
We got home and found a fence blown over and Spice was out running around having the time of her life. Likely she had gotten wet and blown dry in the process. I brought her in for some companion time - now, everyone is just kicking it here.
Amazon.com's wish list system blows. I have three duplicate gifts I am going to have to return. Good grief - I ask for one, one is ordered - can't they notify the person ordering that the item has already been chosen? One would think -
I can't help thinking of things I need to get done at work - I think I'll go in tomorrow and try to get some of it done.
It's somewhat sad - and I blame situations for it. There's no helping any of it.
The good news is my friends the Hartman's showed up for Christmas Eve last night and they are much improved from when I last spoke with them - and we had a nice evening.
All in all, a very peacful, subdued day.
But it's over. New Years Day, I am taking down the decorations. I am cashing in the gift cards. I am returning duplicate gifts.
Older brother and his family will be making the rounds in the next week - that portends to bring its own brand of Drama to visit, but I'll try to be good.
Hope you and yours had a lovely day -
