Bob Keeshan, on a side note, was notoriously difficult to work for and extremely commandeering in regards to the show. The reason that the guy mentioned in the article (name eludes me) worked on Sesame Street is because he and a sizable number of Captain Kangaroo staff couldn't stand the man anymore and wanted to create a show that would not only be excellent children's programming, but avoid any form of star and central character drive that would interfere with their work. Needless to say, the first thing that was hammered out for Sesame Street, and every CTW show afterwards, was that it would not take place in a clubhouse.
