That "first made for TV musical" starring Barry Manilow that aired once in prime time and then was hidden away for one more late-night screening, then obscurity...it's out. On DVD. Even the soundtrack, which was pressed by RCA under that short-lived contract of his with them, is hard to find (but you can order from the BMIFC) --

have you ever seen "copacabana"? what's it like? it sounds-- oh, terribly amusing. i know the song, of course. sings: "at the copa-- copacabana--!"

Anita Crist. Whatever.

In short, Copcabana is cute. Annette O'Toole also stars as the female lead, who, gee, sings, dances and acts much better than anyone ever gave her credit for.

I remember the critics wanted to hate this when it came out - but they all were charmed, and admitted as much.

Lessee. 9 out of 10 buckets of popcorn. You can't go wrong with it, even if it's only to MT3K it.

yeah, barry's not that bad. he's a swell guy, in fact. that movie does sound like a whole lot of fun. (singing! dancing! hurrah!) i'll keep an eye out for it.
