Went to see Harry Potter PoA. *throws arms into the air* "It's GOOOOOOD!"

The hippogriff was my favorite part. That, and watching the cast mature -

I've read a lot of reviews of this film, and all of them really struggled at times to find something wrong with it. The lead is not maturing fast enough to handle the role, yadda ya. If there was less than angsty teenage meltdowns, I'd have to put it back to the director.

And this picture had a new director, which showed - I don't think we'd have had so many kids running around with their shirttails out, otherwise. Nice change. Harry had messy hair. All good.

And yes, he was wearing Skechers. I'm not sure about Hermione, I'd have to get a better look. But yes, his schoolbooks were chomping down on a pair of 5151's, sure as I'm sitting here. Yumyum good.

Really nice film. Loved it.

Previews? That Thunderbirds movie is going to be fun. Kitschy as hell, and as much fun as stealing your mother's car for a joyride. You knew Jonathan Frakes was directing that one? I'm gonna be looking for Star Trek in-jokes. You know they'll be there.

Jim Carey is doing another movie. Yo, dude. *yawns* Rock on. I'm hoping it's as good as the production values in the trailer would lead one to believe. Jim didn't know about the Lemony Snicket books. Fear.

And so a very long week comes to a close.

[livejournal.com profile] cool2alltheway is coming for a week's visit tonight - so it's get up, get the laundry moving and make a fast pass through the house. Jim is also working today, so I'm on my own for most of it.

Aside from the theme parks, folks. Suggest someplace she can't miss seeing while she's here. She's a refugee from Illinois - suggest something.

Me? I'm gonna go find some breakfast.

some place some one from Illinois needs to see

Thunderbirds, engage! ;)

I noticed that about the new Harry Potter movie, too. There's a lot less robe wearing. I'm kind of torn because, on one hand, the street clothes did add a nice change, and allowed the characters to flesh out a little more. At the same time, it doesn't fit with the world the story takes place in, where they're always in robes. I believe that's pretty static throughout the series. Regardless, it was a great movie.

I have just one thing to say: Prisoner of Azkaban in 15 Minutes!

That, and I agree, good movie. Made me want to read the books, even.

I'm amazed that you could follow parts of it - they really left a few important things out of the film.

I'd heard that this film was more like a movie and less than an animated book; I'd have to agree.

Yes, it was definitely streamlined - what parts did you miss?

Well, my secret is that I haven't read the book I'm almost done with The Chamber of Secrets, and I'll start The Prisoner of Azkaban once I finish. My brother told me about a lot of the stuff the movie left out.

My POA icons

No prob.

Someone wanted me to make another one, with Columbia's tap dance steps on it.

When I said I didn't want to work out her tap dance, someone else said "You tell those spiders, Arthur!"
