A number of celebrities were running for various public offices. Somehow, Jim and I had ended up with Clint Eastwood, who at least had some legislative experience and was running for governor. Or county supervisor - I dunno.

So was Boy George. And Jane Curtain - and other folks.

As I woke up, somewhere, Cliff was in the hospital again.

And I had been riding around in a convertible with Clint Eastwood discussing foreign policy and education.

I haven't heard anything from anyone in almost 48 hours - if I don't hear from anyone by Friday night, I will call everyone again with contact information. I'm going to be scarce and hard to reach until Monday - but I may be overreacting. Oh, hell. So what.

I've discovered BoingBoing and it is ebil.

The last two sessions in MAPP have been about grief and punishment/discipline.

Someone called me "precious" last night - talk about turning me to mush inside.

I'm collecting a number of recipes using cataloupe - and the best seems to be the peach-cantaloupe jam. I'll let you know how it works out.

And waking suddenly about 5:00 AM and going back to sleep until the alarm rings at 6:30 is making me very tired.

Clint

Turner Classic Movies had a little "Clint on Clint" show before they showed some of his movies (I think it was his birthday or something like that) and it was marvelous. It was him talking about his movies and his life and it was very interesting to get to know him as a person and what he thinks about his career.

I don't recall if he went into his role as mayor of Carmel, but it was nice to get to learn a little about the man directly from him.

That wasn't a dream, that was the last gubernatorial recall election.

No, I sincerely don't remember Gary Coleman being any part of it. Therefore, nope. *laughs*

What an incredible joke California politics can be.

Listen to this: the incumbent sheriff of my home county, Joe Arpaio, is NOT being endorsed by:

Arizona Police Association
Arizona Conference of Police and Sheriffs
GOP, Maricopa County Executive Guidance Committee
Maricopa Lodge 5 Fraternal Order of Police
Maricopa County Deputies Association
Mesa Police Association
National Coalition of Public Safety Officers
Phoenix Law Enforcement Association
Professional Firefighters of Arizona
Senator John McCain

Pretty damning, I'd say, if your own deputies, every important police organization in the county, and your own political party have voted to endorse your opponent!
