Update - Small, but Special -

kyburgMom had her appointment with the big surgeon over at Loma Linda.
It's surgery now - and he's not considering her for a reconstruction, due to the dickey kidney. He does want to do another renogram and confirm function, so I'm holding out some hope. But - since the cancer occluded the ureter to that kidney, there is concern that cancer could be in that kidney or the ureter connecting it and they may remove it as well as the bladder.
Terrific.
But, still - finite.
But, still - not what she wanted. And much more invasive than any of us wanted. And it's a big surgery, could last as long as six hours - so there is that risk.
Mom sounded great - she even fielded an emergency call to pick up my niece's boy from school today when he got sick after she finished with her doctor appointments.
The process continues. She also asked me to call Sis and get all the dirt instead of going over it in detail with me, so I have that call to make. When I mentioned I had been at Disneyland on Saturday, she then asked me to call my older brother and see if I could help him out with tickets for this Thanksgiving. So I have that call to make.
Go ahead. TRY to deny her anything.
Just get well enough to take that trip to Hawaii, Mom. Jim's Mom really, REALLY wants to go with you.
