Nov. 3rd, 2004 08:15 amIf I can survive eight years of Ronnie Reagan, a feeble-minded, nuclear-missle-loving evil asshole if there ever was one -- a guy who condemned millions of gays to death and virtual leper-hood through refusal to fund any type of AIDS research, forget about letting them marry, with his power-mad wife and psychotic cabinet at his side I can survive this feeble-minded monkey and his cabinet of power-mad incompetents for another four.
Easy as pie.

Yup. That's exactly it. I did it; I even got myself through college while that guy cut the only assistance I had to attend school - my father's Social Security pension for dependent children. Reagan cut my last year of it. "You don't need that, darling. Just say no."
So I worked three jobs and graduated in debt and 95 lbs., dripping wet. Oh, and with a sub-par GPA. Gee, how did that happen? I'd been dean's list the quarters before....
Who put Saddam Hussein into power? You got it.
Oh, I can survive this. You'd better believe it.
Another question - with all these "moral" issues voted on, which really are do-nothings if you think about it - if you ever had to enforce any of them, how could you do that without growing government all out of gianamous proportion to the tax base and deficit that already exists - and not raise taxes?
We're just going to devalue the dollar further by printing more?
Or are we just selling our country out in bonds to whomever wants to buy them?
That'll come up in the next four years. You betcha.

Date: 2004-11-03 08:57 am (UTC)What does worry me, is the vote to limit marriage... that is really going to force some people to make some very vocal stands, and I have a feeling its going to be just as polarizing as Abortion... and my party already hates me for being Pro-Choice... ugh.

Date: 2004-11-03 09:09 am (UTC)Welcome, fellow moderate. Everyone hates you. Get used to it.
Gay marriage - good grief. Can we waste more time and money on a more NON ISSUE? *sighs* Anyone who has seen what damage marriage, divorce and remarriage done between heterosexuals - and acknowledges it - does to children and everyone involved, really wouldn't be wasting their time with whether gays can or can't marry. You'd be too busy trying to deal with the real problems.
But, no. Wave that banner and scare people crapless -
I swear, do some people just need something/someone to hate as a daily nutritional requirement or something?

Date: 2004-11-03 09:49 pm (UTC)I'm just hoping that idiot manages to screw up sufficiently to knock some sense into the fundamentalists / ultra-conservatives that are his party's main support - because otherwise the next president will be from right out of the same mold as GWB: sanctimonious, pretentiously religious, and with utter contempt for the American people.
