So, yesterday was International Fan Works Day, and one of the events that the OTW organized was a Feedback Fest where we leave feedback and also recommend some of our favorite fan works. Well… My fanfic reading has really slowed down since July when I got caught up in my new job. BUT I really like supporting fan work creators, so I’m going to try to throw together a short list for you anyway. Here we go (in no particular order):
Everything by ashesandhoney. I’ve been working my way through her TID fics for a while now, but because of the aforementioned slow down in my fanfic reading, still have some to go. Her TID fics were actually some of the first TID fics I read after I finished the books, and they were the first that I really, really loved.
torestoreamends writes some great Scorbus fic, which has been making up the bulk of my fanfic reading since Cursed Child came out and I started writing my own Scorbus fic.
In the Sin Bin: I’ll be the first to admit that non-magical AUs usually aren’t my thing when they’re based on fantasy worlds, but good authors can always make exceptions. I also know absolutely nothing about hockey, but this story drew me in fast. It’s one of the best Malec fics I’ve read in a while.
It’s Tea Time series. This is a series that currently has three works in it. The first one is very much focused on Scorbus, but the later ones expand and you get to see more of the other characters and their relationships.
And there you go. Please do check these authors and stories out, and if you do, be sure to leave them kudos and comments!
Feedback Fest will be closing soon for contributions, but don’t forget there’s always 2019. Let others know that next February 15th will be a time to celebrate, and maybe create some activities for your particular fandoms! In the meantime, enjoy all the recced works and let those creators know you did <3
