36 wine glasses... I need to come to one of your parties, because apparently you really know how to entertain! I barely have enough wine to fill that many.

They'd be hidden behind something and propping up the wine rack, because I wouldn't have been paying attention and therefore wouldn't have emptied the box, and there wouldn't have been a better place to have put the wine rack at the time, and I would have been out of table space, and the box would have been just the right height when turned up onto its side.

by flat, you mean the glasses lie down on their sides, or the are standing but all on one layer...? not sure it matters, of course...

I guess, size being permitting, I'd put them either under a bed or other "dead space" or up high, like a top pantry shelf or something... The only thing that spooks me with the top shelf is the idea of dropping them as I try to get them down.

I have a crawlspace - not a real attic. Foo.

It's a restaurant pack of glasses - not worth the trouble to take only a dozen or so out of, and it was cheap enough to just take the whole box.

Liquidation sales are like that. *sighs* I'm going to miss Libbey's Glass outlet store.

Wine rack is already on top of the wardrobe in the dining room (the one that acts as a hall closet, since this house doesn't have one) - per DCFS requirements.

The box is sturdy, but I don't think I'd want to put too many pounds per square inch on any of it.

They are in a single layer, packed in a honeycomb restaurant pack box.

I've put glassware under the bed, once. Cats did a number on them, and I've never forgotten.

I could possibly put them up on top of the refrigerator, except that there is already stuff up there I'd have to shift to do so, and it would block the already difficult to get into cabinet there.

Rent a storage shed, move even lesser used items there, store the glasses there too. ~grin duck run~

AUGH. Have the storage shed in the backyard - it's called the converted garage I can't use for anything else.

It's getting to be a very scary place. I didn't know I had enough AV equipment to put a TV and DVD player in every room. I didn't know!

...(we being my folks and brother and I, so we'retalking late '50s, early '60s), Mom and Daddy (transplanted New Englanders) used the crawl space for storage of things like the Christmas decorations. Of course, the house had a slightly peaked roof, so there really was some space - just no florr boards, so the boxes needed to be big enough to straddle the rafters and close enough to the opening for Daddy to reach in and grab them. Mind you, living in the San Fernando Valley, the Christmas candles didn't hold up very well over the summer, but they always yielded some interesting shpaes, and we just melted them down and repoured them.

In my MIL's garage - we don't have a lot of space in our condo either.

I'd suggest a storage shed/garage if you can't fit them anywhere else, you probably wouldn't need them daily.

Ah. I'm lucky my MIL doesn't mind all the stuff in her garage, between my husband, me and my SIL - its got a lot, including lots of alan's outgrown stuff I haven't figure out whether to keep or sell yet :(
