It's a White Board - like the ones you write on with markers and erase. However, this one is virtual. And each Friday, we assign the cleaning duties to one of the members. Points for creativity, style and panache.
But its origins....
Its origins lie with Cliff, and the aerospace industry in the early 90's.
He had a white board in his office, designed to be used to track progress on the projects he was responsible for. Cliff was a systems engineer for a number of companies, largely because he was an electronic electrical engineering grad from Cal Poly Pomona (where I met him). However, he hated the stuffed shirt mentality of most of those firms and rebelled as often as possible.
On the white in his office, there was a list: "Those Who Deserve To Die," underlined.
And if you pissed him off, you went up on the list. Friday, he erased the board and Monday, he began again.
People would come by his office to see who made the list. Thus, an urban legend was born.
Stop by - feel free to vent. Artwork, cute fonts and wild colors encouraged.
You abuse it, you lose it. So say I - and I can thunk pretty hard.
