WTF are we doing here? Mom's been given Vancomycin.

I know this one well. Cliff was given this on a regular basis, once he went on peritoneal dialysis. We even found out he was allergic to it, given intra-peritoneally. Yeah, they apply it directly - peritonitis is a bitch.

So - after twenty days of Cipro at home, then an obstruction, nearly a week on another antibiotic - now they given Vanc.

Oh, and that secondary neph tube is still in. They may clamp it to try to force urine out the stoma - like it should - and send her home with it in place "just in case" - HUHWTFTUNA?!

I gotta talk to Sis about this - this is nuts.

Guys - resolve the block. What is that going to entail? When?

All this stopgap stuff is making me nervous.

yeh, I took vanco back in the day for about 3 1/2 weeks. First two 1/2 weeks was like an iv every other day because the toxicity of the medicine kept blowing out my veins until they absolutely had to give me a central line... yeh, interesting experience. My thoughts and prayers are with your mom.
