Date: 2007-12-02 06:47 am (UTC)I had a holiday season a few years ago when infertility treatments weren't working and frankly I just skipped the whole tree and decorations deal entirely. It was too hard to do it without a kid in my life. I reached a point where it ceased to have meaning beyond painful implications.
Looking back, I'm glad I made that decision that year. It was hard at the time but I think it gave me clarity for moving forward. Maybe you should consider just not giving in to it all this year, if it's dragging you down. It's not worth it, and if setting the angst and stress aside can help later, it'll be worth it.
