Cat is better this morning, but I still have a phone call to place to the vet - if we actually feed her as much as she wanted, we'll run out of food inside of 24 hours, and she's a bit pukey in the bargain. Better is relative - she did NOT want to be in a bedroom by herself, she did NOT like getting fed by syringe and I got a few grumbles. Just a few.
Not nearly enough. She did have the umph to get into a chair and hide under the computer desk. If I get home and find that she's barfed up everything, we start over again.
That also added a whole set of routines to a morning already full of new routines - go us. I don't think anyone was late to work this morning, but just toss a few more balls at us and watch the whole thing fall apart.
I now know the consternation of 'my kid is not happy about going to daycare' and 'once he was there, he was happy to be there and is that bad either?' Jim got big cuddles this morning, but he was also the one who got the kid up, dressed and fed while I packed lunches and got the bedroom ready to house the kitty, and moved the kitty over to it. And then cleaned up the bathroom...wait, I sense a pattern here. Right.
Your day, already in progress.

Date: 2009-04-15 06:08 pm (UTC)Delia's known to do the same thing when I take her over to her grandparents' house. She cries when I take her there and cries when I come to pick her up. I've read that you have to think of toddlers like little cavemen. I can see that, but insane little cavemen, you know?
I hope the kitty improves soon. We have a cat with chronic renal failure and it's a struggle. He's been on daily fluids for close to year and it's hard to keep him healthy.

Date: 2009-04-15 11:23 pm (UTC)I really feel like I lost a piece of me when he died. It's so hard to lose our babies. :( Thankfully, I do still have my other sweet baby as she's definitely helped me get through all this. I don't know what I'd have done without her. We grew closer, too, while he was sick and definitely since. And what was once a pretty antisocial cat turned into this complete cuddling furrball like you've never seen before! lol Though she still despises being picked up, she will now regularly hop up on your lap or spoon with me on the couch almost all the time now. It's awesome! :)
