Two fillings up front, $250 more in debt. Yay dental insurance. (It paid about half of it.)

And I'm a total mushmouth, he numbed my entire lower jaw.

I'll take anything to cheer up right now guys.

It could have been worse?

You could have impacted wisdom teeth, one of which has caused one of your molars to be half not-there anymore, and even with dental insurance you know you'll be looking at several thousand dollars of work you simply can't afford?

Ah, that would be my sister - who was in braces (and had those impacted teeth removed) before she was in her teens.

That's one (of many) reasons we never had nice things.

Today? Oh, they have plans for my mouth. Right now, I think the figure is nearly $10,000 for the things they want me to do. Uh. No.

I don't understand why your teeth are considered like they're from a completely different plant, as opposed to the rest of your body.... but that's the subject for another post.

Sounds about what I would pay. I think my last single filling was 88 out of pocket (and my dentist charges more than is reasonable and customary according to my insurance).

Give Xander a hug. Hugging Alan always cheers me up.

Ugh, I know your pain. Jim's company dental insurance...a dream. Mine wouldn't fully pay for its own funeral.

All I have to cheer you up is [livejournal.com profile] tattermuffin's non-traditional wedding march:

Do what my dentist always told me to do after cavity filling and numbing etc - go get a milkshake!

With a straw, of course, but still... if there is ever a time you DESERVE one... this'd be it.
