Your Moment of 'AWWWWW'
Nov. 2nd, 2009 09:27 amHalloween is in the can. Hallelujah. No, seriously. Between the mad sewing that HAD to be done by Friday night and the assorted things that didn't get done because of it - no used books out for trick or treat, no decorations - FOUL - I am very relieved to be done with it.
Costume worn twice, washed once - still fab. *fistpumps*
Sis offered us a babysitting gig so we could go out for our 8th anniversary last night - we started the day by watching the wedding video we took (so glad I did that, holy crap you have no idea) with Xander, trying to explain the whole concept.
Xander was less than impressed with the lack of kid. And then had a hard time getting his head around the fact it was taken four years before he was born. But - Hawaii! Neat!
Normal Sunday routines followed - except for having to figure out what's for dinner. It was sushi at the old reliable joint (come down, we'll go) to find out they had rehabbed the place into something really pretty, with plenty of HD screens playing baseball and koto music (shush, it works).
This morning, Jim is home sick with what looks like a cold - and poor kid, he do just about anything to make it better Right Now.
He gave Jim at least four of his stuffies, his favorite Pokemon book...and the demanded I turn the lights on in his bedroom so he could fetch the Holy Grail of his collection...the wubie Dog he brought with him from Taiwan. Love hath no greater man, I tell you - than a four year old who gives his Dad his BEST toy to make him feel better.
Then I go out to fetch the newspaper and find out the factor for current gig has declared Chapter 11. Oh, this could make life very interesting, and not in a fun way.
Looks like birthday is going to be a repeat performance of Yom Kippur. Or worse.

Date: 2009-11-02 05:42 pm (UTC)For Halloween I went to a friend's house and we did what we always do: Hand out candy and make it fun for the little ones, and try to scare the older teens that shouldn't be out begging for candy anymore. We got lots of gratifying shrieks and several of them ran. It was glorious :D

Date: 2009-11-02 06:08 pm (UTC)Your factor is a customer of our financial software.
Not sure how that affects us as they aren't our biggest customer, although I did test some stuff for them earlier this year. We did have Lehman go out on us also, not sure what that did to us either. (We aren't a tiny company).
