Good morning!

*sheepishly raises hand* Uh, this was Sis and younger brother (and me) growing up. Yes, we did hit the floor with water. Yes, there was someone on the phone (probably calling Mom at work to tattle) and Sis would have *liked* to have demoed the floor just to get a better one installed.
I'll make sure she gets a copy. (We're also the ones who hosed down the sidewalk in front of the house to make a slip-n-slide out of it. Bare concrete and water, that's all, yup. Where was the grass? What grass - this is Hemet we're talking about. The land of rock lawns, glued in place and spray painted green lawns. The sidewalk was slicker. *shrug*)
Guys, it's only girl shoes and most of the time, they're dress shoes...but if anyone flooded out needs them? Ask me. (I'm not very fast right now, but I can help.)
I'm so well put-together this morning, I'm eating the instant noodle and granola bar stash for lunch. *facedesks*
Guess what. I'm a racist. I make a point of discussing it at every turn, until it becomes background noise. It's not wrong to notice race. In a lot of ways, race and culture go hand in hand - and culture is to people what water is to fish. Deny anyone that at your own risk. It's wrong to make race a reason for anything, particularly hate. Get it, got it? Good. Moving on.
What's happening in Arizona is no surprise to me. Put that on repeat. This stuff makes me tired in ways it doesn't make the people ranting tired. They think they've got the culprits and I'm fairly certain they don't and equally certain they're wasting valuable time and resources in the process. Snerg. I gotta go comb a cat. Nobody is asking me anyway and they hang up on me if I call them. BTW -
People need to talk on their phones while driving - I need a dozen raw eggs to throw at them. Fair's fair.
I'm putting together a list of reasons 'I'd rather be 50 than - fill in the blank.' Add to it at will. Right now?
I'd rather be 50 than get turned down by another school play.
I'd rather be 50 than share a room with my sister.
I'd rather be 50 than have acne. In my ears.
Go fer it.
Hank was down over the weekend, and I had a chance to spend some adult time discussing the finer points of Why We Do This (work trade shows and conventions) - and came to the conclusion there really are two types of personalities involved. 1) This is my one chance to be the center of attention, don't harsh my squee and 2) Nothing happens around here until someone buys a ticket, and that someone ranks everyone here in the room, dig?
That, and kid and I demonstrated the finer points of Wii Sports Resort to him. We like having Hank around - he wears well, and is consistently a good sport. I can't ask for much more.
We are confirmed to be in the Bay Area bopping between BayCon and Fanime (Fanime is almost a lock for Friday as one of us will be staffing, one of us chasing a small boy around), but Saturday, Sunday are still open as we'll be driving home Monday. I plan a couple of things, not the least of which involves cupcakes and books, but I'm open to suggestions.
I actually got a garden in on Saturday, such as it is, all 16 seedlings of it. Preparing the ground, I found a penny - heads up, even. Since I planted tomatoes, I consider this a very good sign. I go back to first grade with growing tomatoes, and I've got a better record of growing tomato worms (gosh, they're pretty) than tomatoes. Well, you just have to keep trying, I guess.
(Have a good week, folks.)
