In keeping with the 'upcycling' theme this year, how about some resources for finding things either free or nearly free, as long as you are willing swap or trade as well?

How about Listia? They deal in credits - you get a bump to sign up, but you 'buy and sell' in them. Looks pretty nifty.

Freecycle.org - accept no substitutes.

I'd be looking around Craigslist for downed wood soon (if you're near me in Southern California) - help someone out after all the wind damage and put up a cord or two of firewood. Everyone can use firewood, I don't care if you have a fireplace or not. Trust me on this.

Peace. Love. Swap. - I just did one of these last weekend.

Anyone else have any suggestions? I'm all for it -

See you tomorrow!

I have "sold" some things on Listia, but haven't won an auction yet. It's an interesting concept, and seems to work out OK.

Peace Love Swap reminds me of the clothing swaps a local church does 2x a year. Gotten some really great stuff over the years that way. And its funny to see Alan's old stuff come back for yet another new home!
