I don't agree with what the Dixie Chicks said at that concert, but I certainly don't think they should be blacklisted for it.

Unfortunately for them, their primary demographic lies in the heavily patriotic South, where insulting the President or the nation is taken highly personally. (After all, the President is a Southerner.)

The 'Chicks shouldn't be judged by their political beliefs, but for their music. Hell, I *like* their latest singles.

After all, there's room for all sorts of opinions, especially in the arts!

It always worries me that saying "I don't like the president, he sucks!" is treated as such a terrible thing. Here in the UK we criticise Blair and make fun of the Prime Minister all the time, no big deal...

Just because she decided to voice how she felt doesn't mean they should stop listening to her music. Just because you disagree with an actor's beliefs does not mean they are a bad actor or that you should stop watching their movies. It's the same for this. Just because someone doesn't agree with her doesn't mean radio stations have to boycott their music.

We live in The Unites States of America where we have Freedom of Speech. But lately I've noticed that even that right is limited to what we are allowed to say and do.

Normally avoids politics but this is a bit much..
