Dodie used to collect the most *awful* pieces of scrap material - think red & black upholstery fabric, for example - some of that geometric stuff so popular back in the 70's.
Then she'd make dolls out of it - using equally ugly buttons (mismatched, of course) for the eyes, some really nasty yarn for the hair -
They were hardly recognizeable as anything human - sort of martian-half-cross kind of thing. No arms. No neck. Then there was a little ditty she would also run off on the copier that she'd pin to them -
Whenever things don't go so well... And you want to hit the wall and yell... Here's a little dammit doll That you can't do without. Just grasp it firmly by the legs And find a place to slam it And as you whack the stuffing out Yell, "DAMMIT! DAMMIT! DAMMIT!"
