My brother-in-law is so happy with Bush because he can send his kid wherever he wants to, if he wants him to go to a better school.

Then is angry because the Pomona School District has people who don't want to administer or teach at a school with unknown test scores because they are already at one with good ones. Well, since their very survival is based on those scores, it makes sense. However, he doesn't see that. He can just pay for whatever he wants, wherever he wants.

My nephew is a very bright kid with nearly perfect grades and needs the additional academics. But his father doesn't have to work with anyone to improve his schools and won't. Just find the school we want for him - screw everyone else. They're all idiots.

Between him and Sis, they make six figures and then some. At 13, my nephew will be accompanying him to Japan when he gives his next seminar. I'm grateful he's a good kid - he's getting every possible opportunity handed to him. None of it is wasted on him.

I have a direct line to my desk at work that is mirrored by one in another area code to a clinic that provides, among other others, abortions. I've had this line for almost two years - the types of calls I get are interesting, to say the least. In case you're wondering, the number of women calling to schedule terminations is in the very least minority of the ones I field.

But I got one this morning. The poor woman sounded like she'd lost all hope. Day after Christmas. You write the script.

I'm not asking for fair. But all it takes is money, y'know?

(And no, I never try to talk anyone out of it.)
